HostUCan: A Web Hosting Relevancy Tool For Finding The Right Service

HostUCan: A Web Hosting Relevancy Tool For Finding The Right Service

HostUCan Finder BoxChoosing a web hosting service can be a mind boggling task, first you need to make sure the type of software you are using is supported (Drupal, Joomla, WordPress, etc.) and then you have to determine data uptime levels, check pricing levels to meet your budget and perhaps even find user and editor reviews of the service to make sure it’s reliable. Thankfully the web hosting relevancy tool by HostUCan makes that process simple through streamlined testing and review options.

I knew the moment I visited HostUCan.com that the product would be simple to use. The right hand side of the website features a large box titled “Application Hosting Search” where I started by choosing the “WordPress” framework and then choosing “0~300″ daily page views to find a host for a smaller WordPress site that’s just starting out.

After clicking the magnifying glass the site then displayed a list of relevant hosting options based on my search criteria. The first option was a WebHostingHub Review which shows a recommendation level of 96% while providing the option to read reviews, view pricing plans and examine available disk space. Below the WEbHostingHub search result are more options that show the same type of information with full aggregated ratings.

As you’ll notice at the top of the screenshot shown above several more search parameter filters are available including “Hosting Type” and “Price.” For Hosting type I was able to choose the type of hosting I required such as VPS, Dedicated, Shares, etc. while Pricing as the name would suggested allowed for price filtering. For more advance options the left hand sidebar allows users to choose the type of hosting OS they need (Linux, Windows, Mac OS) and other important hosting data.

Clicking on the “By Features” tab next to the general search bar at the top of the page also provides specific hosting capability search options that can be grouped together rather than searching by each individual option found on the left sidebar.

For my second site test I chose the “601~1000″ daily traffic option and the results quickly changed with HostGator VPS quickly becoming the top result for WordPress hosting based on the traffic numbers provided.

I personally like that the tool provides recommendations based off capabilities and reviews, for example if a site has the type of functions you want but very little or no reviews are offered the program will recommend options that offer full reviews and are therefore more trustworthy.

It should be noted that HostUCan only provides information for sites that are using opensource or framework applications since the capabilities of those services are understood and therefore each web hosting service can be evaluated based on their capabilities to handle the framework you choose such as WordPress, DotNetNuke and others.
